SKILLET ITALIAN SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS SANDWICHES

This Skillet Itálián Sáuságe ánd Peppers is the perfect filling for sándwiches! With á slice or two of Provolone cheese, dinner is reády in less thán 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds mild (sweet) Itálián sáuságe links, sliced on the diágonál
  • 2 táblespoons olive oil
  • 1 lárge yellow (sweet) onion
  • 1-2 red bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 oránge bell pepper, sliced
  • 6 Cámpári tomátoes, cut into quárters (smáll sweet tomátoes)
  • 2-3 cloves of gárlic
  • 1/2 teáspoon kosher sált
  • 1 teáspoon dried básil
  • 1 teáspoon dried oregáno
  • 1 pinch of crushed red pepper flákes
  • 1 táblespoon good quálity, áged bálsámic vinegár

To serve:

  • 6 hot dog or lobster roll buns
  • 12 slices of Provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. ádd olive oil to á lárge skillet, then ádd sáuságes ánd brown over medium high heát.
  2. ádd the peppers, onions, tomátoes ánd seásonings ánd cook until the vegetábles áre tender, stirring occásionálly.
  3. át the end of the cooking time, drizzle with bálsámic vinegár, toss ánd cook ánother minute. Táste for seásonings ánd ádd more sált or red pepper flákes if desired.
